Jerry Connor, Bridge; director

Career History:

Graduating with a first at Cambridge, Jerry has become a specialist in the fields of leadership and organisational change.

He has founded four organisations. He founded Bridge as a consultancy that has become one of the leading specialists in leadership and in sustaining transformative change in organisations. He has also founded an innovative coaching company, an international agency promoting change in Africa and a UK charity that focuses on developing young people.

Jerry has an MBA and has studied and written about issues of leadership and culture. He has recently published his first book “Why Work is Weird” which explores the way in which organisational cultures impact on their effectiveness.

Jerry main interest lies in how to unlock significant and lasting change in big, complex organisations.
Over the last ten years he has a strong track record in this arena;

Tesco Plc. Jerry was one of the key architects behind the Living Service programme designed to transform the service culture amongst all 250,000 retail staff. This award winning programme has been taken by Tesco into its contact centres and into its international business. Within Tesco Jerry has also designed leadership programmes for all managers from director level down.

PepsiCo - Working with the UK leadership team to help rethink the business in the light of changing market conditions. Creating a business unit focused structure, a more innovative mindset and a different way of working to support this.

HBoS. Jerry initiated a programme within the bank’s UK branch network designed to transform a sales oriented culture to one based on sustainable long term relationships with customers.

Mars Europe - Running a transformation project within Mars in the UK dedicated to reversing market decline and to unleashing the creative potential within it.

McKinsey & Co – Jerry began working with McKinsey at the height of the dotcom boom looking at how to retain and develop bright talent. The solution they developed is still running as one of the consultancies most successful programmes.
Plus large scale change programmes in organisations globally that range from BP to Andersen / Deloitte.

Jerry’s main strengths lie in understanding complex situations and in developing simple solutions to unlock them.
